Unless listed either in conjunction with the bet offer, or else in the Sport Specific rules, all bets should be considered valid for the result at the end of the ‘Regular Time’ or ‘Full Time’ only. ‘Regular Time’ or ‘Full time’ is defined as interpreted by the official rules published by the respective governing association. For Soccer, for example, regular or full time is stipulated to be 90 minutes including injury time, but excluding extra time or penalties.
‘Live’ or ‘In-Game' betting is where it is possible to bet during an ongoing game or event. FOX Bet does not acknowledge or accept any liability whatsoever if it is not possible to place a bet or cash out a bet, or if the live score update is not correct. At all times it is the player's responsibility to be aware of the game/events and situations surrounding it such as the current score, its progression and how much time remains before the game/event is completed. FOX Bet does not accept any liability for changes to the live betting schedule or interruption of the live betting service.
Please Note: Players should be aware that our systems enable FOX Bet to implement a delay to bet placement on a player-by-player basis where we feel that a player has more up-to-date information, or a faster internet connection.
The deadline (cut-off time) shown on the website is to be treated for information purposes only. FOX Bet reserves the right, at our own discretion, to suspend, partially or completely, the betting activity at any time where it deems necessary.
Statistics or editorial text published on the FOX Bet sports betting site are to be considered as added information, but FOX Bet does not acknowledge or accept any liability whatsoever if the information is not correct. At all times it is the player’s responsibility to be aware about circumstances relating to an event.
On some events we may display a score for that event, or we may display team lists, or we may pass on other pertinent information such as yellow cards, red cards and so on. In all instances these displays are indicative only and customers should not rely on such information to place a bet. FOX Bet will accept no responsibility for bets placed on their basis.
There are many types of bets you can make within FOX Bet sports betting product. See below for a comprehensive list, and visit individual games pages to see what’s on offer.
A straight bet is a bet on one selection in an event. Your selection must be successful to get a payout.
Bet involves the number of selections you choose to win from different events. All must be successful to get a payout.
The FOX Bet website will create all possible bet combinations for you - no matter how many picks you select. If you make ten selections and want to combine them into all of the possible Six Bet Parlays, enter your bet amount in the Six Bet Parlay bet slip and all of the possible 210 Six Bet Parlays will be created as bets for you. In this example a 1 unit bet will cost you 210 units.
See the list below for more examples of the possible permutations.
System 2
If you pick three or more selections you will have the option to combine them into all of the possible two bet parlays.
System3
If you pick four or more selections you will have the option to combine them into all of the possible three bet parlays.
System 4
If you pick five or more selections you will have the option to combine them into all of the possible four bet parlays.
System 5
If you pick six or more selections you will have the option to combine them into all of the possible five bet parlays.

System 9
If you pick ten or more selections you will have the option to combine them into all of the possible nine bet parlays.
Odds Boost is a type of bet you can make at FOX Bet, which generally features an improved price on a number of teams/players/fighters to win their respective events on a given day. The price quoted for Bet Bundles or Enhanced Parlays is generally greater than the combined coupon price for the same selections, however there may be occasions (due to price movements) when this isn’t the case.
Cash Out is not available for Odds Boost or Enhanced Parlays. In the event that one or more legs of an Odds Boost or Enhanced Parlay is cancelled or postponed, the selection(s) will be treated as a non-runner in accordance with FOX Bet rules, and bets will be settled on the combined final coupon prices of the remaining legs.*
*Individual rules for each sport may vary for purposes of settlement in such cases. Please refer to each specific rule page for exemptions, which will supersede this general rule in such cases.
A bet is not valid until it is validated and shows in the player’s bet history. In cases of uncertainty about the validity of a bet, the player is requested to check the open (pending) bets, or contact Support.
Unless accepted in error, once accepted, a bet will remain valid and cannot be cancelled. It is the responsibility of the player to ensure details of the bets placed are correct. Under no circumstance will FOX Bet accept any responsibility for any mistakes (perceived and actual), deriving from either errors as listed under ‘Errors’ below, or any other reason, such as but not limited to, incorrect listing of the odds/betting objects.
Should a dispute arise about the acceptance (or lack thereof) of any transaction in the player's account, the transaction log database will be the ultimate authority in deciding such matters.
In the case of all sports, bets are settled on the official result published by the official governing body immediately after the game or event has finished. This may be referred to as ‘weigh in’ signal, ‘podium presentation’ or any similar terminology. Any subsequent correction or amendment to this result will not apply for settlement purposes.
FOX Bet reserves the right to apply a dead heat reduction on any event where more than one winner is specified, with individual sports having individual settlement rules.
Bets are always settled at the fractional odds. When a customer chooses to display the odds as decimals, the odds will be rounded to two decimal places. This may cause the displayed payout on the betting slip to differ slightly from the payout that the decimal odds show. This also applies to American Odds. Regardless of the format of odds displayed, the payout amount on the betting slip will be calculated by the corresponding fractional odds and settled at the fractional odds amount.
‘Suspicious betting’ refers to where we have reasonable grounds to believe that a single or number of bets have been placed in suspicious circumstances. This shall include, but not be limited to:
In the case of any of the activities listed above, and without restricting our ability to rely on other remedies available, the following actions may be taken, depending on the circumstances:
As always, in exercising any of our rights we shall do so in a manner which is fair to you and to other FOX Bet users. For more details, see Clause 5 of the FOX Bet Terms of Service.
FOX Bet is a member of 'SWIMA', Sports Wagering Integrity Monitoring Association, an organization that monitors irregular betting patterns and possible instances of event manipulation. As part of that membership, we are a full participant in its early warning system which is geared towards identifying any such betting behaviour.
In the event of a warning being received by FOX Bet, FOX Bet withholds the right, in its absolute discretion, to:
(i) suspend the offering of any event or series of events in any of its bet; and
(ii) delay and/or withhold payment on any event or series of events in any of its bet, until the integrity of such event or series of events has been confirmed by the relevant sports federation via SWIMA.
Furthermore, in the case of active event manipulation being confirmed as having taken place on any event or series of events by SWIMA, acting in conjunction with the appropriate sports governing bodies, FOX Bet withholds the right, in our absolute discretion, to suspend any bets placed on such events, either by any individual identified by SWIMA as having possessed insider betting knowledge or information or by any other individual who in the reasonable opinion of FOX Bet is connected to, acting in conjunction with or in any way involved with such individual.
Once the result of an event or a bet has been determined then all bets are settled immediately. Any prizes (winnings) due to customers are automatically credited to their FOX Bet account from where they can choose to withdraw them or place more bets.
The cash out option allows you to take a payout on your bet before the bet for your chosen selection(s) closes. This can be either for a profit on your original bet amount or for a loss.
Subject to our acceptance you can cash out your bet for the payout amount offered on the cash out button on your bet slip. If your cash out request is successful your bet will be settled immediately and funds returned to your account equal to the amount shown on the cash out option on your bet slip. This bet is settled and any subsequent results either in your favour or against will have no impact on the amount returned.
Cash out is available both pre-event and In-Game on straight and parlay bets on any sport where the cash out option is provided. Your request to cash out is not guaranteed to be accepted and may be unsuccessful if, for example, the bet suspends or the odds move before your request has been processed. FOX Bet reserves the right to suspend or disable the cash out feature at any time and its availability to you cannot always be guaranteed. FOX Bet reserves the right to reverse the settlement of a cash out if the bet is settled in error (for example, a human or technical error).
On occasion, the Cash Out amount offered will be greater than the maximum payout limit applicable to the bet. This is because maximum payout limits are applied retrospectively. In this instance, where a bet has been cashed out for an amount greater than the applicable maximum payout, then we reserve the right to amend the amount credited from the Cash Out to correctly reflect the applicable limit.
Any bet that is successfully cashed out will not qualify for any money-back, free bet, enhanced odds or any other special offers.
In the event of a retirement or abandonment In-Game, we reserve the right to void the cashed out element of any cash out bet if we believe it has been used to benefit from subsequent individual sports settlement rules.
Where a bet is declared void it will be settled with the odds of 1.00. A bet made as an accumulative bet shall remain valid notwithstanding a game or an event which is part of the accumulative bet being void.
FOX Bet reserves the right, at our own discretion, to declare a bet void, totally or partly, in the obvious case of errors, or rigging. Bets can be voided regardless of whether the event has been settled or not. Furthermore, all bets placed (and/or accepted) in the following circumstances will be declared void:
Use the menu at the top of the page to select your chosen sport and see in-depth betting rules on each sport offered by FOX Bet. These rules are based on existing industry standards.
Please Note: where an individual sport's rules differ to any general sports rules listed on this page, those detailed on the sport's specific, individual rules page will take precedence.
Cancellation terms and how they will affect your bet(s) vary depending on which sport you are betting on. For more details, select your chosen sport from the right hand menu.
Parlay bets are not accepted where the outcome of one event contributes wholly or partially to the outcome of the other. Bets accepted in error will be settled at a special price (determined by us) for all of the outcomes to be successful.
For example: $50 two bet parlay on the New England Patriots to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers with a points spread of -6.5 in the AFC Championship at -110 with the New England Patriots to qualify for the Super Bowl will be settled as a $50 at -110 (If they have won 1-0 they have qualified for the Super Bowl).
Similarly if parlay bets are placed on one team to win multiple events at individual prices (e.g. the New England Patriots to win the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl) we reserve the right to void such bets or to place them at a special price for the parlay
‘Error’ is a mistake, misprint, misinterpretation, mishearing, misreading, mistranslation, spelling mistake, technical hazard, registration error, transaction error, manifest error, force majeure and/or similar.
Examples of errors include, but are not limited to:
We reserve the right to void any bet where a blatant error is made. Instances of blatant error include but are not limited to an error in publishing a price or a handicap (e.g. New England Patriots -6.5 is published as New England Patriots +6.5). In case of such errors we will endeavour to contact the customer prior to the start of the event. However, in the situation where it has not been possible to contact the customer, bets will be void. In the event that an error is discovered after a bet has been settled, we reserve the right to void the bet(s) retrospectively.
In the case of incorrect settlements FOX Bet reserves the right to correct any error made and re-settle the bet correctly. Any funds and/or winnings which are credited to your account, or paid to you as a result of an error, are not to be deemed available for use or withdrawal and we reserve the right to void any transactions where such funds were used. Such funds shall be immediately repaid to us when a demand for payment is made by us to you. Whenever possible if you have monies in your account we may reclaim these monies from your account and/or reverse the transaction, either at the time or retrospectively.
Where you have used monies or anything with monetary value (e.g. Free Bets) which have been credited to your account or awarded to you, as a result of an error, to place subsequent bets or play games, we reserve the right to cancel such bets and/or withhold any winnings which you may have won with such monies. And if we have paid out on any such bets or gaming activities, such funds are not to be deemed available for use or withdrawal, and such funds shall be immediately repaid to us when a demand for payment is made by us to you.
Where there is evidence of price, race, game or event rigging, we reserve the right to withhold payment, pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation and ultimately to declare bets on that event as void.
Where evidence of rigging exists, or where there is evidence of a series of bets containing the same selections(s) having been placed by or for the same individual or by a syndicate of individuals, we reserve the right to require claims for payment to be submitted in writing to Support.
In the event of an official enquiry in relation to suspicious betting activity surrounding an event we reserve the right to disclose confidential information to the sport’s governing body or their representatives, on the conditions that they consent to keeping such information confidential
Unless otherwise stated in the betting offer or in the individual rules governing each sport - the principle of ‘all bets stand’ (‘all in run or not’) will apply to all bets placed on Futures/Event Winner offers. Therefore if a bet is placed on any selection that fails to participate for any reason, the bet will be lost if the betting event takes place.
Only in exceptional cases will bets be declared void such as:
• The event /tournament is cancelled or declared void.
• The venue is changed.
• The event/tournament is interrupted/postponed and started/restarted more than 72 hours after original start date.
Where a bet has been placed on an event and that event is subject to a venue change, all bets will stand so long as the venue has not been changed to the opponent’s ground (or in the case of International games so long as the venue remains in the same country). However, FOX Bet reserves the right to void any bet where we feel that the change of venue has had a substantial impact on the betting for that game.
Where two or more competitors have the same surname and those competitors have not been identified by a first name, team (where applicable) or qualifying price, then the competitor with the lowest advertised price will be deemed the selection.
In the event of two or more competitors being quoted at the lowest advertised price then bet amounts will be split between them.
It is the customer’s duty to stay within the limits mentioned hereafter. The limits apply to both straight bets and parlay type bets. Where a parlay bet has been placed which involves events with different maximum payouts then the lowest limit will be applicable.
All bets are subject to a maximum payout to any one customer (or as set out below, any group of related customers) in any one day irrespective of bet amounts, odds or number of winning lines as listed below. Other than as set out below a bet is accepted on the basis that it is the investment of one customer.
All maximum payout limits apply to one customer, or groups of customer acting together, who have placed bets containing the same selections, including where placed in a series of bets, at a range of prices, over a number of days by using different accounts or different channels. Should we believe that a number of bets have been placed this way, the total payment of all those bets combined will be limited to one single maximum payout.
We reserve the right, in our discretion, to apply the following limits. All limits are quoted in $.

Where a bet has been settled, and an amount greater than the applicable maximum payout has been credited to a customer’s account, then we reserve the right to amend the amount credited to correctly reflect the applicable limit. We reserve this right where a bet has been fully completed or where a bet has been cashed out early by the customer using our Cash Out function.
The effect of schedule changes on betting opportunities varies by sport. Read on for more details:
The following is applicable to all Football games, including NFL, NCAA College Football, CFL and Arena Football.
Abandoned or postponed games are void unless rearranged and played in the same NFL weekly schedule (Thursday-Wednesday local stadium time), except for those bets that have already been determined at the time of abandonment or postponement.
If a game venue is changed, bets already placed will stand, providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed game are reversed, then bets placed based on the original listing will be void.
In 2-Way bets Push rules apply, unless otherwise stated. Bets on straight bets are returned, and in parlays the selection is treated as a non-runner. For example - in Handicap or Totals betting where the index (value) of the bet is a whole number, bets are void and will be refunded where the score lands on that number.
If a track or field event is cancelled for any reason prior to the event then all bets will be void.
If a game venue is altered then bets already placed on the game will stand so long as the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed game are reversed then all bets placed based on the original game will be made void.
All bets will stand irrespective of a change of schedule (or day of game), or a change of venue. All bets will be void in the event of a game starting but not being completed, except for bets where the outcome has already been determined, or where there is no conceivable way the game and/or game could be played to its natural conclusion without unconditionally determining the result of a specific bet. For example: a game is abandoned at 19-17. Bets on over/under 36.5 Game Total Points are settled as winner and losers respectively since any natural conclusion to the game would have resulted in at least 38 points.
All games must start on the scheduled date (local time) for bets to have action. If a game has been postponed or cancelled before its due start time then all bets are deemed no action.
For non-MLB Baseball (including Minor League Baseball) games, no listed pitchers and all bets are action regardless of who pitches for each team. The 8½ innings rule also applies, although in the event of a Mercy Rule being called, all bets will stand on the score at the time. For seven innings games played as part of a doubleheader the 6½ inning rule will apply.
In 2-Way bets Push rules apply, unless otherwise stated. Bets on straight bets are returned, and in multiples/parlays the selection is treated as a non-runner.
If a game venue is changed then bets already placed will stand, providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed game are reversed then bets placed based on the original listing will be void.
Settlement will be determined immediately following the conclusion of each match – subsequent alterations and amendments to results will not count for betting purposes.
If a match is postponed or there is a change of venue which materially affects home advantage, all bets will be made void. If a match is brought forward bets will stand.
If a match is abandoned, all bets will be made void, except for bets where the market has already been unconditionally determined. For example, all 1st half only markets would stand in the event a match was abandoned during the 2nd half.
Games or markets where a result cannot be found after a reasonable time period will result in bets being made void.
In 2-Way markets, Push rules apply
Overtime counts for all bets, unless otherwise stated.
A player must step on court at some point during a match for bets to stand. This applies to ANY market involving a player performance line including Odds Boosts, RequestABet etc. If a player involved does not play then any bets involving these players will be made void.
3-Way and markets including the draw selection do not include overtime, unless otherwise stated.
Whenever there is a home and away game (with an aggregate points scored based format) full game markets will be settled according to the regular time result, and any overtime will not count (unless both games finish in a draw after regular time).
Fourth quarter betting does not include overtime.
Beach Soccer
Beach soccer games must be completed or else all bets are considered void, unless unconditionally determined.
Any postponed or cancelled games will be treated as a non-runner for settling purposes, unless it is played within 48 hours of the original start time.
Beach Volleyball
When a game venue is changed bets already placed will stand, but only when the home team is still designated as such and the game is not instead played at the away team venue, otherwise bets will be void.
Postponed or cancelled games will be treated as a non-runner for settling purposes, unless played within 48 hours of the original start time.
If a match does not take place for any reason (eg. injury withdrawal) all pre-match bets will be void and bet amounts returned. In the event of a match starting but failing to be completed then the player progressing to the next round will be deemed the winner.
Game bets where no draw selection is offered will be made void if game ends a draw.
Should the fight be postponed bets will be void unless it is rescheduled within 48 hours to take place within 30 days of the original date.
Later fight announcements made in regards to result changes, post-fight enquiries or changes to the official result in hindsight won’t affect the original event settlement.
Should there be a change in the advertised contest (for example, a contest changes from a title fight to a non-title fight) bets will stand.
In fights where the scheduled number of rounds changes, all bets stand unless result is predetermined. For example, if a fight gets changed from the 12 to a 10-rounder bets on round 11 and 12 will be void.
If a match is cancelled before any play has taken place, then all bets are considered void, unless the match is restarted within 48 hours of its initial starting time.
If a match venue is changed then bets already placed will stand providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed match are reversed then bets placed based on the original listing will be void.
In the event of a match starting but not being completed, the player progressing to the next round or being awarded the victory will be deemed the winner for settlement purposes. Bets will be void in the 2-Way Match Result bet if the match result is a tie.
All games must start on the scheduled date for bets to have action. If a game has been cancelled or postponed before its scheduled start time, or is not completed in full in accordance with regulation time, then all bets will be deemed void. All game bets will be settled on the score at the end of regulation time and will exclude overtime if played, unless stated otherwise.
If a game venue is changed then bets already placed will stand providing the home team is still designated as such. In the event of the home and away team for a listed game being reversed (swap of venue) then bets placed based on the original listing will be void.
Any unplayed or postponed game will be treated as a non-runner for settling purposes, unless we can establish within a reasonable time frame - using publicly available information from governing bodies - that the game has been rescheduled within three days of the original start time in which case the bet will stand.
Any bets on a game abandoned before the completion of 90-mins will be void except for those bets where the outcome has already been determined. For example - if a game is 5-2 and is abandoned with 10 minutes left to play then over 6.5 goals will be settled as a winner, and under 7 goals settled as a loser.
Where a game is played at a venue other than the venue listed then all bets will stand providing that the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team are reversed - i.e. the away team is now the home team - then bets placed on the original listing will be void.
Futsal
Should a game be abandoned before the end of regulation time then all bets will be declared void unless a definitive result for that bet has already been determined prior to abandonment, e.g. Team A to score goal 1.
A game must be played within 48 hours of the original scheduled start time for bets to stand. If a game doesn't take place for any reason within this period, bets will be deemed void.
Handball
If/when a game venue is changed bets already placed will stand, providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed game play the fixture at the away team venue bets will stand, providing the home team is still officially designated as such. In all other cases bets will be void.
Any postponed or cancelled games will be treated as a non-runner for settling purposes unless it is played within 48 hours of the original start time.
If a tournament is shortened and we settle the tournament bets then all bets placed after the last completed round will be void. In addition, if a price for a tie is not available, dead heat rules will apply.
If a Tournament/Round is restarted from the beginning, all bets placed after the official off time will be void, except on bets which have been unconditionally determined. Bets on 2-balls or 3-balls will only be void if placed after the tee time of the relevant group.
If a player withdraws without playing a stroke all bets on the relevant bet will be void. Likewise, should all players within the framed bet fail to complete the first round then all bets will be void.
If a tournament is reduced in length because of adverse weather then all bets will be settled providing a winner of the tournament is deemed and a minimum of 36 holes are completed. The winner will be the player in the lead at the end of the last completed round.
All games must start on the scheduled date (local stadium time) for bets to stand. If a game venue is changed, bets already placed will stand providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed game play the fixture at the away team venue then bets will stand providing the home team is still officially designated as such, otherwise bets will be void.
There must be five minutes or less of scheduled game time left for bets to stand, unless the specific bet outcome is already determined.
Formula 1
All race bets are settled on the official classification from the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the sport's governing body, at the time of the podium presentation.
In the event of a driver switching race teams during race week, or a driver not originally listed entering the field, all bets taken prior to these changes being factored into the betting will be re-settled at the correct price taking into account the team/car change. This is inclusive of all bets offered for F1. Our decision on this matter is final.
Nascar/Indy Car
In Outright Race betting ‘the field’ includes any driver who is not listed in the outright prices. Any drivers who fail to qualify for the race will be deemed as non-runners. The race must be held within one week of the schedule race time for there to be action. The official NASCAR / INDY winner of the race will be settled as the winner for betting purposes, this includes all races which are halted prematurely.
In the event of a race starting but not being completed (e.g. there is no deemed winner) then all bets will be void.
If a match is interrupted and continued within 48 hours after initial kick-off, all open bets will be settled with the final result. Otherwise all undecided bets are considered void.
In the event of a match starting but not being completed the player progressing to the next round or being awarded the victory will be deemed the winner for settlement purposes.
Where revised match betting is offered (between sessions), one frame of the following session must be completed for bets to stand.
In all other bets if the statutory number of frames in a match are not completed, changed, or different from those offered for betting purposes then all bets will be void unless the outcome has already been determined. For example: if a match was abandoned after frame one with the score 1-0 to Player A then bets on Player A to win frame 1 would be settled as winners, and bets on Player B (the opponent) settled as losers. However, in the event of a disqualification or retirement bets will be declared void.
If a game is abandoned before regular time is played, all bets on that game are void, except for those bets (e.g. race to 10 points or winner of a specific game) where the result has already been determined.
If a postponed/rescheduled game takes place within 48 hours of the original start time, your bet on the game will stand, unless cancelled by mutual consent. However, if a game in the Olympics or World Championships is postponed bets will stand providing the game is rescheduled to take place before the closing ceremony.
If the game is no longer playing at the venue advertised, bets will still stand. This applies as long as the venue has not been changed to the opponent's ground (or as long as the venue remains in the same country for international games).
Bets on game will be void in the event of a game not taking place, or if a player/team is given a walkover.
All bets will be void in the event of a match starting but not being completed, except for bets where the outcome has already been determined. For example - a game is abandoned at 6-4, 5-1. In this instance, bets on the first set winner will be settled as a winner. The only exception to this rule is where a player is disqualified, after which the player or team progressing to the next round will be deemed the winner.
In the event that a tournament - or parts of a tournament - take place on a court surface or venue different than the one originally scheduled, the following rules will apply:
When a game venue is changed bets already placed will stand, but only when the home team is still designated as such and the game is not instead played at the away team venue, otherwise bets will be void.
Postponed or cancelled games will be treated as a non-runner for settling purposes, unless played within 48 hours of the original start time.
The following rules apply to the winter sports listed below:
If a specific event (determined as: after a final competitor list is known) is suspended or postponed bets remain valid provided that the event is completed on the same run/same venue within 36 hours (with exception of Winter Olympic events). If the event takes place on a different run/venue bets will be made void and bet amounts returned.

This is the first and most critical factor! If you don’t have this, just walk away and leave betting to other people. Sure you might be certain that a 1.33 favorite is going to win, but are the odds being offered giving any value? Plenty of times casual gamblers say “There’s no way this team is going to lose this game.” Well they might be legitimate favorites but is the probability of them winning better than the odds being offered? Betting with this frame of mind is a little like saying an over-priced €1000 laptop was good value just because you really, really wanted it. Well it doesn’t work like that!
Value is a simple concept, but most of the betting public don’t understand this as it gets. Perhaps thankfully so, because it’s this naive or ‘square’ money that can skew the market, leaving great opportunities for the minority of gamblers who do know how to recognize value.
If you’ve ever said the phrase “I’m not a maths guy but….”, then you probably shouldn’t be a betting guy either. While plenty of gamblers can make a success of it by betting on instinct and ‘feel’, to be successful long term you need a reliable staking plan and you need to understand what the odds reflect in terms of probability. In short, its a numbers game, and you need an adequate relationship with division and multiplication as a minimum.
If you think your math skills aren’t that great but want to bet anyway, learn how to use a spreadsheet and set up systems that automate odds equations for you, you’d be surprised how much time a good spreadsheet will save you.
This depends upon the popularity of the event, but in general, bookmaker odds will be more a reflection of what they expect the general public to play, rather than on the actual probabilities of either outcome. Of course, it’s not quite that simple, but in general, bookmakers will set their odds so as to attract betting on either side of the odds, so as to balance their liability and take their commission.
This leaves smart gamblers to find great value opportunities where the general public’s opinion is just plain wrong. It also means that great value can be found on events where there is expected to be greater interest than normal by the occasional and casual gambler, who lets be honest, knows nothing or very little in terms of profitable betting strategy. Events like the Super Bowl, Cup finals and major horse racing events are prime candidates for this sort of opportunity.
Don’t let a recent losing run throw you off your game. Put it out of your mind and stay with your analysis and have faith that the wheel will turn. Similarly, don’t let a recent winning streak give you false courage and lead you to over extend yourself. Again, stay with your analysis and stick with your plan. Got it? Let’s move to next one!
Multi-bets, Parlays, Teasers. Whatever you like to call them, do not bet them. EVER. Sure they offer the promise of the big score, the big pay day, but in terms of value, they are terrible. You’re never going to win long term with that sort of slice being gouged out of your odds. Stick with single bets and think long term.
It would be great to get rich quick, but its not going to happen. Think long term. Build your betting bankroll, steadily increase the amount you bet on each game, and soon enough you’ll find you’re making some decent pocket money on the side, and maybe, just maybe, if you stick with it long enough, you can make a living wage out of it.
If you want to make money, you need to start with a betting bankroll capable of absorbing potential losses. If you’re going to bet in units, with an average bet of 1 unit, I would recommend a bankroll of at least 50 units. That’s the minimum. OK, so maybe you can only afford a bankroll of €500, which means your average unit will be 10€. Sounds small time I know and you want to be a high roller as soon as possible. Well, a €500 bankroll can quickly turn into a substantial amount with consistent value recognition and an intelligent staking plan.
